Listen for examples of stereotypes and biases everywhere you go and become a skeptic of generalizations and assumptions based on any form of separation. Everyone has positive and negative behaviors and habits, just as we know ourselves to be. All X people are not Y way… ever. Stereotypes are never absolutes. Take the time to become a student and skeptic of your own programs, and encourage dialogue to learn about others’ preferences,
traditions, fears, and challenges. The more time we take to hear our own programs and to rewrite our “truths”, the faster we include everything in this crazy, wonderful thing called life.
